Today is now a rainy cold day, and I am watching my third t.v. show. The first one was Smallville, the second was A Ring of Bright Water, and the third is Old Yeller.
All three have the same theme.
In Smallville Lana got superpowers and so she and Clark work together as the newest and strongest Super couple. At first you think this is great and the two will live happily ever after. But Lana becomes infected by Kryptonite and can never be near Clark again so the two become Star Crossed lovers. That of course leaves Clark free for Lois Lane, but Clark doesn't know that yet.
In the second one a divorced writer adopts a wild otter and calls him Mitch and the two become friends. They move to Scotland and live there and I won't tell you the ending.
And well everyone knows the story of Old Yeller, so I won't tell about that one at all. But the theme in all these shows was the same, It is better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all.

A Lot of Fun
Good morning Morning! What a fine time today! I was so sleepy last night and now I feel bright and chipper. At least that was what I told myself over a headache this morning. I went to Curves and exercised and had a lot of fun. There were not a lot of other women there, but three of us loved the jazzy, fun music. Achey Breaky Heart, Celebrate, and Locomotion were some of the tunes we danced and exercised, too. I also made two new friends, Pam and Rachel. Pam knew Joe's mother. She was married to Michelle's uncle or Nancy's sister or someone. I am not sure of the family connection. I have trouble keeping my own family tree straight. Anyway, here I am on line chatting about nothing. But I made a dent in one of the resolutions----two new friends.

What is it?
This evening I have been sitting at the computer rereading old e-mails and blogs from friends and children. What is it about the written word that has such a powerful connection?
Why does one reread something or see a picture from the past and think, "Gosh I really love____." "Wow, look how young we were!" " What a darling baby ___ was! So cute and sweet and cuddly!" IDK
I just know that the word is mighty powerful.
Speaking of powerful words, I think of the scripture that is in the Bible and remember that it is sharper than a two edged sword. I remember that God's word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I remember the scripture that says: "Thy word I have hid in my heart that I might not sin against God." All good all true and all so powerful.

Exercise
Do you like to exercise? I hate it. I would rather lay in bed and read a good book or sleep. I would rather play a game of cards or even do dishes. In order to exercise I have to plan ahead and get out there and do it. And do it first thing. If I don't, it doesn't get done.
When did start hating it? I think it was when I took ballet and the teacher spanked me for doing a deep knee bend the wrong way. Or maybe it was when I couldn't stand up and dive off the side of the pool, it was too far from the water. Anyway since then I have preferred to be a spectator.
Today though I went to Curves and then later in the day walked to the end of my street.
Woooooo go girl.

Tutoring Such a Blessing
The more I teach, the more I realize how blessed I really am. In working with a family today, I learned a bit about the mother's home life as a child and teen. Now see why she chooses to have all four of her boys from 9 to 15 home schooled. As usual people tell me things. I am again so glad to be blessed in a good education, good job and wonderful family. Thank you God for all your blessings.
I am blessed to have a sturdy home I own where the walls aren't crumbling and there is enough room for everyone.
I am blessed to have a sister and brother-in-law who take charge and know The one true God.
And I have great children who are responsible and took charge of their lives from a young age! |
