Silver lining

Every Cloud has a silver lining, that is my theme for this year but Am I trying too hard to put a positive spin on all that happens?
I fall down and make another fat lady story out of it. Now Lita has had a car accident and I am just glad that it happened when she had health insurance so I could take her to the hospital and get her checked out.
Life happens. The car will be fixed and I can get a rental for $40 a day.
But things make it so hard for me to trust that the Lord will provide. I know He will but where and how?

It is early Sunday. The Sun is not up yet, but will be later. Time for church in 2 hours. My house is full, I need a bigger one! Then everyone can come and visit and stay. I have discovered there is a list of things I need to buy before I want to buy:

Flowers and pots.
Bird feeder holder.
This will be a good day.

The Big Old Fat Old Lady

One day the big old fat old lady decided she needed some exercise. So she said to herself, "I can do it." But she was big and she was fat! (laughter here please.) So this lady began her walk. The hill went down; the road was flat. The other walkers out said "Hi!" She turned the corner slowly becasue she was big and she was fat. Across the way she saw a young boy jogging. "I wonder if I know that boy" she thought to herself. But she is big and she is fat and when she took her eyes off the sidewalk she tripped over a crack. SMACK! "Wow! This stings and I have a cramp in my leg." She agonized. "Can I get up?" The big old fat old lady reached out and put her hands on the grass. She was big and she was fat. "Can I get up?" she wondered one more tme. One push two pushes!"There I did it," she said. And so the big old fat old lady limped home wondering why she even tried to exercise.

This is precisely why I need to walk every day. I tripped over the crack in the
sidewalk and If I had a camera I would show you the scraped knees and hands. That was this morning at 8 something. The rest of the day was down hill from that. My list didn't get accomplished but I did some things not on the list.
I did pray and read the Bible today. The devotional today was perfect for me. You can't go back again but you can go on and walk closer with God.
I did half the laundry.
I went to CVS and bought band aids and gauze and medicine.
I went to the library and got some new books.
Then I slept all afternoon!
A friend stopped by and brought me some dinner. ( I couldn't eat it though because it had too much pasta.) However, it is the thought that counts, right?
Another friend came by and we drove around Oxford delivering things to her students. We walked around Miami and named the trees we saw.
So it was a good day. Not the planned one but a good one.

School's Out Forever

The words of a song I heard first at a skating rink in Omaha, Nebraska: "Schools out for Summer school's out forever." For me it truly is and I am beginning to have a dream. It is lovely to thing that I don't have to get up tomorrow and be anywhere and I don't have to do anything. I am though going to do some things. My list for tomorrow includes;
1. Walk in the a.m. and pray and read the Bible.
2. Call the courthouse
3. Go through the closet and try to find my missing clothes
4. Buy a new camera ( check at the bank first)
5. Buy a desk top at Lowes (ditto)
6. Get rid of the clothes that I don't want in the bin at Wal-mart.
7. Do the laundry
8. Clean the bathroom with bleach
9. Clean the grill and find something to stuff the holes with so birds don't get back into it.
10.Get or make a calendar
11.Find out about making cards and make some cards.
12 Unbox the boxes around the house.
13.Figure out what to do with all the extra stuff.
14.Think about my dream!

Last Day

I came into Kramer today, It was time to say goodbye. Tomorrow will be forever. While walking out to the car I tried to remember I some of the first students I ever taught. I remember Jimmy Meece and Kevin Robinson. No little girls at all. From North Beech and Mount Harmony I remember Victor Smith and Leighanne Kershner. Gosh so many children! I remember faces but not all the names. No wonder Howard always kept his grade books.

Birds and things

As I was washing dishes I wondered about the birds in my backyard. One built a nest in the grill. Jonathan and Ashley got it out and yet the bird is building a new one right back in the grill. I wish it was a cardinal I wouldn't mind so much then, but it is an ugly black one and it sings loudly. So happy to be making a new home I guess.

Alice brought me a humming bird feeder. I want to put it up and get some pink and red flowers for the yard. Unfortunately I have no shovels and I don't think I can do yard work anyway. But soon I will be able to do that!

As I was recuperating I worked on a sweater and finished it! And I am also almost done with the granny square afghan. So productive!

Do I need some new projects?
